Creative Structural Design

Located on a steep site with massive boulders and mature live oak trees, our architecture firm had the great opportunity to design a contemporary cabana in the mountains above Santa Barbara. Working together with Dylan as the general contractor made this one of the most interesting, rewarding projects we've ever been involved with. Dylan's attention to detail, innovative solutions, unflappable cheerfulness and strong communication skills made the project even better than originally conceived. He found non-standard products and creatively adapted them for fully-integrated pocket doors, edge materials for ceiling and wall planes to float and cor-ten steel details to integrate roof drainage and structure. At the same time, Dylan's approach to the collaborative effort was always sensitive to design and cost factors for the various solutions. He and his crew are dedicated, hard-working, honest and truly care about the people involved in the project - this was clear at the heartfelt gathering with the owners when the cabana was complete.
